Scrap the Bedroom Tax

The ‘bedroom tax’ could and should have been David Cameron’s Poll Tax. This was yet another attack on the poor and marginalised within society, whereby a ‘subsidy’ was lost if the claimant was found to have a spare room, thereby effectively cutting their housing benefit.

Respect unequivocally rejects the notion that people should have to suffer such cuts to their housing benefits whilst bank bosses are paying themselves million pound bonuses.
